They partnered with another charity in an attempt to humanely trap the mother cat so she could be reunited with her baby. “We’re obviously concerned about his mum,” Macdonald explained. “We’ll keep working to try to find her.”
In the meantime, Biff was placed in foster care alongside two other orphaned kittens, Chip and Kipper. Together, the three formed a new little family, offering each other comfort and companionship after difficult beginnings. Caregivers ensured they had everything they needed — proper nutrition, warmth, medical checkups, and most importantly, love.
For the employees at Makro who first heard Biff’s cries, the outcome was deeply moving. They knew how close the mother and kitten had come to tragedy. Without their quick action, the compressor might have been used again, crushing the helpless animals inside. Instead, their willingness to pause work and act with compassion gave Biff a second chance at life.
A Reminder of Why Rescue Matters
